We are a social enterprise that
manufactures eco-friendly
charcoal briquettes
made from
coconut waste (instead of wood).

We source our coconut waste
from rural communities and turn
them into high performing
charcoal. Saving one tree with
every 12 kilos of EcoUling sold.

With 3% of pristine forests left in the
Philippines
due to deforestation for
traditional wood charcoal production,

EcoUling is dedicated to fostering a
circular economy by using coconut
waste as raw materials for charcoal
production,
rather than throwing them
away and letting them pile into landfills
that would take at least eight years to
decompose.

We successfully built a farmer-first carbonization technology, which we call our
Green Facility, deployed in our partner communities.

This technology deployment enables access for on-the-ground use, making it
possible for rural communities to take part in the process of carbonizing coconut
waste, resulting in livelihood opportunities.

Coconut waste is procured from local
farmers,
empowering EcoUling’s supply
chain and sourcing of raw materials.

Involving the rural communities in
the decentralized production creates
dignified livelihood programs that
would eventually lead to sustainable
communities.

EcoUling mitigates health risks specifically
in charcoal production and use.
The
process of making traditional wood
charcoal emits uncontrolled smoke during
production, making it an obvious health
hazard for manpower.

EcoUling’s carbonization technology
releases significantly reduced smoke
and emission.
The smoke produced when
grilling with EcoUling is controlled and
tolerable, unlike the smoke produced in
traditional wood charcoal grilling.

We wish to preserve the
beauty in the culture of our
grilling experience,
which
brings out recipes and flavors
that are uniquely Pinoy.

We believe in the world-class
standard of Filipino grilled
cuisines and advocate for this
kind of culture to be viewed
and experienced sustainably,
and without the harmful costs
to health and the environment.
